Whoa! The DJI Mavic Pro flew a HUGE distance
DJI Mavic Pro flight over 6.5km in distance.
MavicPilots forum user “Jbax” has posted a video on YouTube showing an incredible 6,595.1m flight across the ocean just off the coast of Byron Bay in New South Wales, Australia.
The Mavic Pro is pushed to its absolute limits
Starting the flight with a cruise around some kayaks and a glimpse of playful dolphins, Jbax then set out to achieve what most thought was nearly impossible. Over the next couple of minutes (video has been sped up) we watch Jbax take his Mavic Pro out to Julian Rocks.
Towards the end of the flight his battery becomes critically low and his Mavic begins to auto yaw as he brings it in to land. Just like Jbax said himself, “Okay, I admit I pushed things a tad close.”
The best part is when he’s not even halfway and his battery is down to a mere 20%:
How to maximise the DJI Mavic Pro Intelligent Flight Battery?
No doubt Jbax could have achieved more distance if he didn’t hover above the swimmers, but the critically-low-battery-detection-auto-land works a charm. In our opinion, he was simply testing one of the many great features of the Mavic Pro and he managed to do it like a boss.
Nice flying, Jbax!
