Travel Advice for You and Your Drone!
Beware When Travelling With Your Drone! Do your research. With the advent of drones and their increasing availability we are seeing more and more reports of authorities taking notice of your fancy new Mavic Pro folded up in your pocket.
Along with the various Youtube videos of people having their drones confiscated, the current concern is directed to tropical vacation hotspot, the Bahamas.
MavicPilots forum member ‘Frankiev’ is travelling to the Bahamas soon and called their Ministry of Finance regarding travel with a drone. Frankiev was informed that he could email his name, address, make and model of his drone and there would be paperwork waiting for him upon his arrival.
Along with filling out paperwork, he is required to pay a 50% deposit of the value of the drone.
The question remains, is this a fully refundable deposit? Can you keep your drone and go on holidays? Are you forfeiting both the drone and 50% deposit for the duration hoping it gets returned? Or would you rather leave it packed away at home?
